What Are Narwhals?
Narwhals are medium sized toothed whales that live year round in the arctic. They eat squid, fish, and shrimp. Most narwhals travels in groups called pods, which consist of 10-100 narwhals and sometimes much larger groups. They communicate with various sounds like squeals, trills and clicks. Narwhals are mostly hunted by polar bears and orcas. Native Inuit people are also allowed to hunt narwhals legally. Narwhals are related to bottle nose dolphins, belugas, and harbor porpoises.
