Narwhal Endangerment
Narwhal hunters.
Narwhals are on the brink of being endangered. There are only 40,000-50,000 narwhals left in the arctic! One reason for that is hunting. This is mainly because of the people that hunt narwhals for food and for their horns. Another reason for the death of narwhals is the melting of the ice caps/glaciers, and pollution. Since ice caps are melting, more and more narwhals die every year. For protection against bigger animals, narwhals hide inside glaciers, which they can't do if all the glaciers melt. Pollution can also kill many narwhals as it can to other animals. During the winter, narwhals migrate south to warmer waters. They are one of the only animals that will live in the arctic year round, so if their habitats get destroyed, they will have no other place to live. It is important to save the narwhals to protect them from endangerment.
